Although
today we had a windy day we could finally catch a good number of birds, 63,
with a total of 16 species that shows that passerine migration has started. The most
numerous captures have been dunnocks, robins and great tits, but we have also
captured birds like firecrest, house sparrow and reed bunting. At the end of
the morning we could see how a couple of kestrels were hunting birds at the
yard where the mist nets are situated.
For me,
today is my first ringing day at Gedser, and the first experience here has been
fantastic.
