Blue skies as the sun rises over Gedser Fuglestation |
After four days of bad weather, conditions finally improved enough this morning for me to be able to put nets up! It ended up being a beautiful sunny day, but there was a light wind which probably reduced the catch. The result was a steady day of 26 birds, including 18 new birds and 8 retraps. Dunnocks featured heavily (mostly 2nd calendar year birds) with ten birds ringed, and one new Firecrest was ringed. No Goldcrests seen or heard today.
