A steady spring morning

A steady morning at the station today, with a respectable 51 birds ringed and 19 retraps. Again, Goldcrests dominated the catch with 32 individuals ringed. A new Firecrest and male Yellowhammer were the highlights of the morning.

The afternoon was spent birdwatching at Bøtø Nor with Anders and Rune who gave me pointers on the waterbirds in the area, followed by a great home-cooked dinner and Æbliskiver for dessert to celebrate my birthday. All up a terrific day.
