Cranes, cranes and more cranes

It was a bit chilly this morning with a bit of mist in the air, but that didn't stop the birds and a small group of people who came to the station for one of Han's guided tours.

Mostly robins (rødhals) and goldcrests (fuglekonge) in the nets (we were worried at one point that we might not have anything else to show the visitors!). But there were the odd blackbird (solsort), blackcap (munk) and chiffchaff (gransanger). We also caught another bullfinch (dompap) this time a male, which was pretty exciting! Also one of the goldcrests we caught had a Finnish ring!

Dompap! (Pyrrhula pyrrhula)

There were huge flocks of cranes (traner) flying overhead today, more than 2000! In addition to this around 50,000 eider (edderfugl) were seen passing the tip! We also had another Yellow-browed warbler (hvidbrynet løvsanger) calling in the garden.

We've got the owl nets up right now so here's hoping!
