Female Blackcaps have arrived

The day started off 15 minutes earlier and with some light rain showers, and ended with a perfect sunny weather with light wind. We had some Blackcaps falling in the nets and the first 2 females of the season, and some retraps of Linnets ringed last year.

Our afternoon walks allowed us to see Sandwich Terns, Whimbrels, Golden Plovers, Barn Swallows, Wheatears, Stonechats, a Kestrel and a Redwing, amongst other more common birds in the area.
Around the house, Andreas saw a Woodcock while chasing a Firecrest singing in the bushes and found a Selenia dentaria new species caught in our moth trap.
